Sustainable development and a study of water crisis in India

Abstract: Sustainable development is an economic development in which the needs of future generations for their economic development are also taken care of, so that it may continue for a long time or it can remain sustained. Therefore, it is a wider concept than the economic growth and the economic development also. The sustainable development has mainly two components which are inter-related to each other, that is, economical or which is related to production and consumption of goods and services and ecological in which the use and management of natural resource is taken into consideration. In this research a problem of water shortage in India and its impact on people and some of the suggestions have been advanced to resolve the crisis of water especially in India.
