The perception of academicians in management institutes: The changing role of higher education faculties

Abstract: Purpose: The main purpose of the research paper is to explore the changing role of higher education faculties concerning views on demographic variables like gender, age, education and designation. The changing role of academicians is explored in the hindsight of today’s academicians performing the duty of academic managers along with the core research and teaching assignments. Design/methodology/approach: Convenience purposive sampling method was used to obtain data through a self-administered survey questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale, delineating the research purpose and assurance of confidentiality. For the data analysis, statistical techniques like mean, percentage method, and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Matrix are used.
